Carmen is a bilingual English and Spanish Licensed Clinical Social Worker who joined the Life with Cancer team in July 2021 as a Behavioral Health Therapist, Oncology. She earned her Master’s degree in social work from Columbia University School of Social Work in New York City, where she specialized in Advanced Clinical Social Work Practice with a focus on Health and Mental Health. Carmen has more than 15 years of experience providing psychotherapy to diverse populations in outpatient, hospital and community settings. Her experience also includes program development and implementation and co-management of a family therapy training program. She has clinical experience in cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy and trauma-informed care. Carmen also served as a Social Work Field Advisor, Field Instructor and has taught Field Seminar courses.
