Melissa joined Life with Cancer’s Family Center in 2021 as Program Coordinator after five years with the Inova Health System in Administrative Support roles in the Inova Women’s Hospital, Fair Oaks Radiation Oncology and Life with Cancer, and System Patient Access departments. Melissa finds supporting the Healthcare Professionals in Cancer Services has been the most rewarding and engaging role on her journey with Inova. Growing up with an Inova nurse for a mother and having a child with special needs has formed Melissa’s passion for positive patient outcomes for not just patients, but for their families as well. She truly enjoys providing operational support to those who deliver patient care. When joining Inova in 2016 she brought 20 years’ experience in Customer Service and Team Coordination of Business Operations and Community Outreach events. Melissa completed her degree in Administration of Justice in 2019 and is working towards a degree in Social Sciences. Outside of work and school Melissa enjoys being a mom to her two kids, spending time with her friends, and listening to music.
