Sarah McHale, MSW, LCSW, OSW-C

Behavioral Health Therapist, Oncology

Sarah joined Life with Cancer in July 2019 after relocating from New York. As a Behavioral Health Therapist, Sarah offers individual counseling to patients and caregivers and facilitates support groups and educational programs. She also serves as the radiation oncology social worker at Inova Loudoun Hospital where she provides emotional support and resource referrals to help patients and their family members navigate through treatment. Sarah received her Master of Social Work degree with a specialization in Integrated Health from Stony Brook University and recently completed the requirements for certification as a certified oncology social worker (OSW-C). Previously, Sarah held clinical social work roles serving oncology and geriatric populations at Stony Brook Cancer Center and a sub-acute rehabilitation and nursing facility in Nesconset, NY. Her areas of interest include adjustment to disease, cognitive behavioral therapy for coping with cancer-related stress and anxiety, and transition to survivorship.
