Barbara joined Inova Loudoun Hospital in 2015 in Case Management, and later transitioned to the Inova Schar Cancer – Life with Cancer Team as a Behavioral Health Therapist, Oncology in spring 2022. She offers a wealth of knowledge from over 32 years of experience in healthcare, education, supportive treatment and community building in Loudoun and Fairfax Counties.

Barbara earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and American Studies from Dickinson College, as well as a master’s degree in Social Work from University of Maryland, Baltimore. She is a licensed practitioner in both Maryland and Virginia specializing in helping patients adjust to new and progressive diseases. Her background includes expertise in managing anxiety and depression. Additionally, Barbara has experience with palliative and end- of-life care, grief and bereavement, and possesses strong skills in trauma-informed care. Barbara utilizes evidence based therapeutic techniques when working with individuals, couples, and families in order to improve overall functioning and manage illness.

Barbara resides in Round Hill with her husband and enjoys activities related to her four adult children. Her interests outside of work include landscape gardening, travel, dining out, and experiencing the beauty of Loudoun County with her family and friends.
