Joslyn Trovati is a licensed clinical social worker who joined the Inova Peterson Life With Cancer team in 2026. She provides therapeutic support to adult oncology patients at the IPLWC Family Center. Joslyn has previous experience in outpatient cancer centers providing individual and group support to patients with various diagnoses. Whether managing the physical and emotional toll of active treatment, acclimating to post-treatment survivorship, or navigating cancer recurrence or spread, Joslyn is proud and honored to walk alongside patients and caregivers at any point in their illness course. Joslyn takes a gentle, trauma-informed approach to help patients and caregivers manage stress, identify strengths, and find meaning.
Joslyn is a licensed clinician in Virginia and the District of Columbia and she is also a Certified Oncology Social Worker. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The George Washington University and her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, where she specialized in health care social work and working with older adults. She recently earned a Post-Graduate Certificate in Palliative and End-of-Life Care from the Zelda Foster Studies Program at New York University.
Joslyn’s clinical interests include palliative care, grief and bereavement, adolescents and young adults (AYAs), and fertility preservation. She has also presented at local and national conferences on social determinants of health (SDOH) and the psychosocial needs of AYAs with cancer.
Joslyn enjoys traveling, reading, live music, warm weather strolls through her local wildlife preserve, all things Italian and Japanese food, and playing her daily New York Times word games.
