Marie first joined the Life with Cancer team as an intern in the summer of 2022, then the Pediatric team full-time in June of 2023. She earned her Masters in Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at George Mason University and is currently a Resident in Counseling in the state of Virginia. As a Pediatric Behavioral Health Therapist, Oncology, Marie provides individual outpatient therapy for children, adolescents, and their family members impacted by a cancer diagnosis.
Her areas of interest include pediatric bereavement, anticipatory grief support, understanding grief within a cultural context, and family grief/loss and bereavement. Marie is a certified coach of the Online Resilient Parenting of Bereaved Families Program through the Arizona State University REACH institute. Through this program she coaches bereaved caregivers as they navigate parenting after loss. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing and tending to her indoor plant collection.
