Be a Breast Cancer Mentor

If you are a breast cancer survivor who is at least one year out of treatment and want to help another, become a mentor with Survivors Offering Support (SOS). You can guide a newly diagnosed breast cancer patient through a difficult time, giving valuable information, emotional support, encouragement, and a shoulder to lean on. Volunteer Your Reiki or Healing Touch Skills

Provide individual Reiki and Healing Touch sessions at Life with Cancer Family Center in Fairfax. Reiki volunteers must have completed Level III training. Healing Touch, level 1 or reiki level 3 is required. Documentation of having received MMR, Varicilla (chicken pox) and Dtap vaccines OR blood test showing immunity to those is required. Also required is a background check and annual flu shot, TB test. For more information, please contact us.

If so, you could be the perfect person to represent us at our periodic special events and fundraisers! You will be provided with in-depth training, at your convenience, so that you feel prepared. Volunteer Opportunities for Teens 

Life with Cancer does not have volunteer opportunities for children under the age of 18; however, High School Students (ages 16+) may volunteer at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus.  


Plan a Fundraiser

Inova Health Foundation's peer-to-peer fundraising platform gives you the ability to fundraise in support of Peterson Life with Cancer. Create your campaign, select Peterson Life with Cancer as the beneficiary, and invite your friends, family, and co-workers to contribute.
